The Institute for School Innovation (ISI) is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with the International Alliance for Invitational Education (IAIE). The IAIE Trustees have recognized ISI as an official affiliate based upon our mutual aspirations to bring forth human potential based upon the core values of trust, respect, optimism, care, and intentionality. To learn more about invitational education, go to www.invitationaleducation.net.

The first official collaboration will be to connect Project CHILD® educators with the 2011 IAIE World Conference, scheduled for October 26-29 in Richmond, Kentucky on the Eastern Kentucky University Campus. Project CHILD founder, Dr. Sally Butzin, will be featured as a general session speaker. ISI will supplement the IAIE breakouts with Project CHILD breakout sessions and pre-conference tours to CHILD classrooms in nearby Kentucky communities. Project CHILD attendees will join the IAIE attendees for the general sessions and keynote addresses.

"We welcome ISI and Project CHILD to this international group of educators committed to creating inviting schools where students and adults are working together to enhance social emotional learning, the key to lifelong success," said Dr. William Purkey, co-founder of IAIE.

"Connecting our conference with IAIE's makes sense in these challenging times of budget cuts and travel restrictions. We were finding that state testing dates were conflicting with our regularly scheduled CHILD conference in the Spring, so moving to the Fall makes sense," said Winky Jenkins-Rice, ISI Director of Educational Programs and conference coordinator.

For conference details, Winky Jenkins-Rice, 2011 Conference Coordinator, at wrice@ifsi.org. We hope to see you in Kentucky!
